We had the honor and pleasure of being invited to participate in Tokyo Fashion Week in September 2023.
The collection was designed by Miss Aline and fine-tuned by Mum Jolie.
These creations came to life in our sewing workshops in Kenya and Madagascar.
It was a wonderful opportunity to show ourselves again on an international stage (the premiere was in Vancouver in 2022) and a wonderful discovery of the beautiful country of Japan.
We were fortunate that photos from our show were republished in the prestigious magazines Vogue, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar.
Mama Jolie can’t wait for us to go back!
But before that, we’ve got other international stages to discover very soon!
I’m often asked how we managed to get into Fashion Week, which door we knocked on, or whether we know anyone in the organization personally.
The answer is quite different: we simply didn’t try to get in!
With the help of my community manager, photographers and models from Reunion Island, I took care of our social network feeds to make them beautiful and help customers quickly grasp the level of quality of the clothes on offer.
As luck would have it, someone from the global fashion collective spotted us on Instagram and invited us to enter Fashion Week.
Thanks to this, we’re now traveling the world to promote Couleurs d’Afrique.
Some of these outfits are then sold as one-offs, while others are available in the made-to-measure tab (please allow 5 weeks for made-to-measure orders). Please note that we only produce our own made-to-measure models, and cannot produce your own designs).
